Tonehouse
TONEHOUSE is the custom Web Audio engine that powers All Munkis - ripped out of the game, bolted to a live mixer, an oscilloscope and a spectrum analyzer, and handed to you with all the knobs exposed. No score. No goal. Just a humming, drifting, slightly cursed sound machine you get to poke.
It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing installs, nothing phones home, nothing is tracked. Press a button and it makes noise; that's the whole contract.
Three ways to play
- HARMONY - the full studio. An 8-voice mixer (mute, solo, pan, pitch, and a Main / Harmony / Both channel router per voice), a master FX rack (tempo, filter with self-oscillation, delay, reverb), and a second detuned, time-offset copy of the engine layered underneath.
- COOP - a split pad field for one or two players. Deal the voices out as instruments, jam together, then flip on BOWSER for a third-player chaos strip whose entire job is to ruin your song.
- TRUE TWIN - the strange one. A genuine second audio clock runs an independent copy of the engine. Two hardware clocks drift a few parts-per-million apart forever, so the two performances slide against each other and never, ever line up the same way twice. It's the "open it in two tabs" trick, built in.
The CHAOS panel
This will break the sound on purpose. TAPE STOP and HOLD are momentary - press and hold them (or focus the button and hold Space / Enter). RANDOMIZE re-rolls everything. INVERT flips every voice. If it goes somewhere ugly, PANIC is always the kill switch.
